Vancouver Island West  Summer of 2003

After a 26 hour passage passing Cape St. James, at the tip of  Queen Charlotte Islands to Cape Scott on the northern tip of Vancouver Island,  we anchored in Sea Otter Cove.  We spent 3 days there.  One day sleeping and relaxing and two days catching up with chores on the boat.

We proceeded down the west coast of Vancouver Island and anchored in Winter Harbour where we started to catch salmon (at last).

Our next destination was Klaskino Inlet then we headed towards Brooks Peninsular.  In Brooks Peninsular we anchored at the  Bunsby Islands and had a few days of exploring and kayaking.

Walter's Cove was out next destination, we found civilization, weekend cottages, seaplanes etc. A really pleasant place with a good store for fresh vegetables, milk and an ice cream which we treated ourselves to.

We continued down the coast to Bligh Marine Park, Friendly Cove and saw whales as we were entering Claquot Sound. Finally we arrived at Tofino and spent a few days there before heading for Ucluelet and Barclay Sound. We left Barclay Sound on August 12th for Sidney, via Victoria. We have stayed in the Sidney area provisioning, anti-fouling the boat  and took a  very brief trip to Vancouver via Ferry for some admin. stuff that needed attending to.  We will be heading out to San Francisco on September 3rd or thereabouts.
